Marking the centenary of some women gaining the vote in Britain, Rebel Women was a season of events hosted at London’s National Portrait Gallery, to reflect on the suffrage movement, pioneering women throughout history, and the ongoing battle of equality. The events were sponsored by MGallery By Sofitel, a collection of over 90 boutique hotels around the world.

On the 9th of May 2018, MGallery and the National Portrait Gallery launched the Rebel Women Trail, a journey through ten contemporary women’s thoughts on historical women. Ahead of this, a breakfast preview was hosted, consisting of talks from inspirational speakers and an exclusive preview of the trail. Speakers included Karelle Lamouche (Senior Vice President for Sales & Marketing, AccorHotels), Rosie Broadley (Collections Curator, National Portrait Gallery), Jenny Beavan OBE (Academy Award winning costume designer), Nishma Robb (Marketing Director, Google), and Lorna Tucker (esteemed film director).
